Well, we're getting ready for a short hunting trip near Childress, Texas this weekend to hopefully get some hogs and maybe a late season whitetail or two.
We made a day trip over there earlier this week and it looked promising. There are two feeders already setup and running on the property and there wasn't a piece of corn on the ground under either one of them and there were plenty of game trails running through the waist high grass. Well, not a lot of hog hunting got done this week. With deer season in Texas really getting going I've spent a lot of time out in the woods searching for that monster buck.
We've been checking the traps we set at the woman's house that had her yard getting destroyed have stayed empty all week. The hogs haven't been back since we put the traps out. She's got thousands of wooded acres behind her, so it could be a while before they come back so all we can do is keep checking them.
I've decided to start up a blog so yall can see what goes on from day to day around here in hog country. Everyday isn't filled with hog hunting, sometimes it's deer hunting or just mundane everyday stuff, but I'm going to keep this just on the hunting aspects.
This week we got a call from an older lady about 10 miles from us. She had a hog problem and needed help. She lives on 5 acres in a small housing community just outside the city limits and the hogs have been destroying her backyard,
