    Meet the Pro Staff

The staff at is a collection of individuals who all have hunting and the love of the outdoors in common and were brought together by their insatiable appetite for hunting wild hogs. Our staff is unique in that each member has their own special talents. We have professional hunters, published authors, website designers, technical experts, weapon experts and many others working to bring you the most interesting and current information about hog hunting you can find.

    Michael VanSant

Michael has been hunting hogs with his best friend and business partner David Dell for over 15 years. He specializes in trapping and stalking and his favorite thing to do is to get in close enough that he can smell them without them knowing that he's there. He has spent years in the field learning about hogs and perfecting techniques to track and trap them. This has led to Michael and David developing and selling their own line of hog traps to customers across the country as well as manufacturing and marketing their own wild hog attractant. Michael and David also provide a hog removal service to local landowners, farmers and ranchers.

    David Dell

David has been hunting all types of game for almost 20 years. He and Michael found a passion for hunting wild hogs many years ago. The attraction has led them on many interesting and exciting hunts, from stalking and trapping to using thermal and night vision on hunts in south Texas. "The heart pounding excitement of the sound of a 300 pound hog snarling in the woods, the thrill of the kill and the smell of homemade sausage on the grill", David says, is why he loves hunting wild hogs. One of David's many hats around the WHH crew is the chef hat. He's one of the best damn camp cooks there's ever been!

    David Falconer

David has been hunting for 37 years starting with a Red Ryder BB gun up to hunting Elk in Colorado. An avid sportsman, he owns an 1100 acre ranch in Oklahoma where he manages a whitetail deer herd in conjunction with the Oklahoma Game Department's DMAP Program. While most of his experience has been hunting turkey and deer he has taken numerous hogs over the last 5 years.
David is the author of two fictional novels: Realm of the Wolf and Law of the Wolf and has written numerous articles for the outdoor E-zine out of Illinois. He also has experience in the independent movie market as a director and film maker and has brought that expertise to the hunting video clips produced by for the site. While David is seen in front of the camera occasionally, he is almost always behind it. His section Falcon's Roost is a place for his voice and we encourage you to visit for some excellent outdoor stories and humor.

    Dr. Chris Lucci

Dr. Chris Lucci has been hunting and guiding for over 30 years. His hunting interests include waterfowl, upland birds, hogs and deer. He now owns and operates Wild River Ranch, in south Texas. He holds degrees in biology and medicine and he has been a conservationist ever since he started hunting. Owning land has been a lifelong dream, and in addition to making his own ranch a game preserve and management area, he and his neighbors started a regional wildlife co-op. The ranch is enrolled in the Conservation Reserve program, the USFWS Riparian Buffer program, and Chris is a Texas Parks and Wildlife cooperator, under the Managed Lands Division. Part of the ranch also is managed as a Ducks Unlimited Prairie Wetlands Project.

Chris has been instrumental in the development of the 6.8 SPC cartridge, hosting ballisticians and manufacturers, during several important tests at the ranch. He has formulated his own 6.8 SPC loads, including subsonic rounds for suppressed rifles. His affiliations are numerous, and he holds a position on the Barnes Bullets advisory panel. He is an expert in night vision hunting tactics and he uses thermal imaging while outfitting ranch clients. He has also written several articles on AR-15 cartridges and the rifle's adaptation to medium game hunting and night vision applications.

When asked what is his favorite type of hunt, he says stalking up to feral hogs, danger close, using night vision, and thermal devices.

    Jon Cook

Jon has grown up hunting hogs. as a small boy his dad took him out hunting with dogs until he was about 15 and old enough to start running his own set of dogs himself. "There's nothing more rewarding for me than to take someone on their first dog hunt and to see the excitement on their face when we get the first one bayed up". Jon is also an expert at trapping and snaring hogs but hunting with dogs and knives is in his blood.

Jon runs and operates Not So Boar'N Hunts with Randy Roberson.

    Randy Roberson

Randy Roberson has been hunting all of his life. For him hunting is a passion that will never die. He is a true outdoorsman in every sense of the word.

He enjoys all types of hunting no matter if he is preparing a prime hunting spot for deer, stalking predators or chasing hogs on foot beside his dogs. To him there is nothing like the sound of the dogs baying in the distance. The pride in knowing the dogs have done their job and the rush of not knowing exactly what he will see when they catch up to the dogs is an adrenaline rush and keeps Randy going back to the woods every chance he gets. Randy has hunted with a gun most of his life but after experiencing the natural high he got after stabbing his first hog he now usually chooses to leave his trusty rifles at home.

Randy runs and operates Not So Boar'N Hunts with Jon Cook.

    Garrett Patton

Garrett is a lifelong hunter who began deer hunting down in South Texas with his Aunt and Uncle on their farm at a very young age. He first started hunting with a rifle but that soon gave way to archery only. Recently he's picked his rifle back up as a means of combating the feral hog population that wreaks havoc on his family farm in North Texas.

While it's not surprising to find Garrett out in the woods hunting deer, coyotes, out on the river fly fishing or up at the barn gutting a hog, what most people who don't know Garrett do find surprising is his profession. Garrett is the owner of Garrett Patton Salon and some people know him as the Hunting Hairdresser.

Garrett joined the WildHogHunters team in 2010 as a camerman and hog hunter but we quickly found out that we can't put him anywhere near a snake. One thing's for sure, he's deadly with a bow and it'd be a bad day to find yourself on the business end of one of his broadheads.

    André Lopes

André is passionate about the outdoors. He is lucky enough to live in the only state in Brazil where hunting is allowed. He started hunting with his father at 8 years old where his father would hunt partridge and André would hunt dove. The appeal to arms and adventures encouraged him to join the Marine Corps where he got his real schooling. After leaving the Marines he graduated from college with a degree in Computer Sciences and today he works as an Oracle database administrator.

André began hunting wild hogs around 2002 when they began appearing in the area where he lives. He studied the habits of his new quarry and learned to pattern the hogs in his area and has since been on so many hog hunts that he's lost count of them all. Finding a good ambush spot and hunting from blinds is his preferred method. "The thrill of being alone in a wilderness, braving heat, rain or cold with only my gun is surpassed only by the pursuit of the perfect shot and the fall of the hogs!"

Like in America, there is a large amount of pressure from anti-gun and anti-hunting groups to ban recreational hunting. André, together with many friends, have created a non-governmental organization that works closely with the Department of Agriculture in his state to both keep hunting legal and to help farmers and rural producers manage the hog problem.

One of his favorite parts about hog hunting is the barbecue after a successful hunt.
André says, "The taste of wild meat is priceless!".

    Gaston Gonzalez

Gaston began hunting at age 3 with a .22 chipmunk shooting rabbits and squirrels and by age 6 he was hunting whitetail deer. His passion for hunting started early and now he hunts everything from hogs to predators to waterfowl. He also is an avid angler and living near the Texas coast he mostly enjoys saltwater fishing. "I get a rush when pump and reeling in apex predators like sharks and other game fish".

"I find my peace in the outdoors and centered my college career around the outdoors". He received his BA in environmental studies from Austin College and is currently seeking a masters in range and wildlife management. "I met the guys from WildHogHunters in 2010 at a BBQ they were hosting. I realized that I had already met David years before at the local watering hole and was surprised to see him when he opened the door at the BBQ. I’ve always enjoyed hog hunting but after meeting the team and using some of their night vision and suppressed weapons I’m addicted. There’s nothing like stalking up to a big squealer in the dead of night and dropping it in its tracks before it knows your feet from it".
