  • Cuts And Scrapes

    Often large boars with big tusks or cutters will cut or shred small trees or leave very obvious cuts in larger trees or posts. This is caused when they brush up against trees or posts with their heads and their cutters will make large cuts in the tree. You will often see the cuts in pairs with one from the cutter or bottom tusk and the other from the whetter or upper tusk. You will often find cuts and scrapes on utility poles that boars have been rubbing against.


    Here is a good example on a telephone pole. You can clearly see some of the cuts in the wood in pairs from the upper and lower tusks.
