Bedding areas are going to greatly differ from location to location depending on the terrain and habitat, so you'll need to scout out your area and look for additional hog sign close to be sure. Be forewarned, stumbling into an occupied bedding area can sometimes be a dangerous proposition as sows will vigorously fight to defend their young from any danger they perceive and sometimes boars will fight just for the hell of it.
Here is part of a bedding area in a relatively open area surrounded by really thick vegetation on all sides. The soil in this area is very soft and makes a comfortable place for the hogs to lay down.
This spot is in the middle of a huge field along a large creek known for it's hog population. It provided a perfect spot for the hogs to bed down because due to the height of the grass it was impossible to see until you walked into it, the grass was impossible to pass through quietly giving them plenty of warning of anything approaching and the field was completely open allowing them routes of escape in any direction.
