  • Hog Hair

Often hogs crawling under a fence, particularly barbed wire fences, will scrap up against the wire and leave tufts of hair stuck to the fence. Sometimes there will be nothing more than three or four single hairs and other times there will be a big mass of hair possibly from several different hogs stuck to the fence.

Since hogs will often follow game trails used by other animals and during the drier months individual tracks can be hard to distinguish on game trails, finding hog hair stuck to a fence can be a great clue to help determine their traveling patterns.
